ICOS-Spain is the national network of Greenhouse Gases measurement stations and represents the Spanish contribution to the European Integrated Carbon Observation System (ICOS) network. This European Research Infrastructure aims to measure the Greenhouse Gases Concentration to study the trends of their main sources and sinks.
The Spanish contribution will expand the geographical coverage of ICOS, allowing the observations of this network to extend to the subtropical zone of the Atlantic Ocean. ICOS-Spain consists of five stations covering three domains: atmospheric (Izaña Observatory and El Arenosillo), oceanic (CanOA SOOP and ESTOC), and ecosystems (Majadas de Tiétar).
